You can easily see why it took my around more than 10 secs to get the crystal flash working on the scavenger run.Īpart from my skill, what exactly made this run going on with the record was the use of abusive glitches such as the zebetite glitch (a glitch that allows you to skip the red-barriers in mother brain's hall), the infamous kraid-quickkill glitch and the mock-ball glitch. It was done on the console with the ntsc cartridge, also with a malfunctioning snes controller. This run was based with the same route as hotshot's only with a few updated oddities here and there. myself could have *more* spare time to actually practice and get everything perfect. Trust me, after seen this run, i can safely say that 0:58 can be lowered if someone like, lets say aka. One of the main reasons i didn't get a closer time like this before is because when i did speed runs on zmv, i feared that the movie could break at any moment if i make them long, and also i wasn't that much experienced at the game and i could make tons of mistakes in no time, and even more in parts that looks neat to perform. As i said before, i can now play easily at least without doing too 'much' mistakes over more than 30 minutes of in-game time. Doing tons and tons of pure speed runs without saving was basically what made this run possible (aside all the people who contributed with the tricks). Hey, first off: light-hearted comment, this run (literally) was based on a 9 month project since my 1:31/100%. 100% speed run of Super Metroid, completed on February 24 2004.
